05/07/2026	notice type: enhancement	The Relative Oceanic Niño Index (RONI) - the official NOAA ENSO index replacing the ONI - is now available at PSL. It is similar to the ONI but the tropical mean SSTs are subtracted out, reducing the impact of the SST trend on the index. It will be updated monthly.
04/26/2026	notice type: warning	The NOAA ERSSTv5 dataset will be discontinued by NOAA/NCEI in June 2026. It is being replaced by the NOAA ERSSTv6 dataset, which is now available on the PSL website. Learn more and get ERSSTv6 updates from NCEI
03/18/2026	notice type: enhancement	Observation stations added to the PSL Observation Network: Bucks Lake Base, Bucks Lake Node 1, Bucks Lake Node 2 Bucks Lake Node 3, Grizzly Ridge Base, Grizzly Ridge Node 2, Grizzly Ridge Node 1, Grizzly Ridge Node 3.
03/17/2026	notice type: alert	The NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis 1 dataset has ceased updates due to the National Weather Service change from CDAS to CORe. The last date of data is March 17, 2026. Learn more
03/06/2026	notice type: enhancement	NOAA ERSST V6 has been added to the PSL data collection and will be updated. It is monthly and starts in 1850 and covers the global oceans. More information
02/28/2026	notice type: warning	The NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis 1 dataset will not longer be updated effective on or around March 18. Learn more
