Administrative support assistant Robbie Desen began working for PSL’s Budget and Administration Group on June 30th. Robbie currently provides support to four of PSL's research teams. Before coming to NOAA, she was a secretary at HQ Defense Commissary Agency in Ft. Lee, Virginia for nearly two years. Her career also includes five and a half years as a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service with Large Business and International and Wages and Investments. Robbie worked as a Defense Contractor with Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman for eleven and a half years as a Program Administrator/HR Rep/Safety/Security Rep—all after serving 20 years in the US Air Force, active duty in Military Personnel. She even found time to squeeze in 2.5 years working for a major retailer as a clerk, department lead and district secretary, and has also worked as a caregiver for seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Robbie is proud of her son who recently graduated high school and won a full scholarship to college. He will attend the Community College of Denver starting this fall, and then attend the University of Denver for his Bachelor's Degree while working as an apprentice for the Mikron Corporation in Englewood. He hopes to become a mechanical engineer. Robbie enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music, walking, reading, and watching movies. She loves people and dogs, traveling, and driving her jeep.
